Some wedding days stay with you long after they end. Alyssa and Daniel’s Reno Tahoe wedding at Park Home Ranch in Minden, which is just outside of Reno, was one of those days for me.
This wedding was selected as a cover finalist for the 2026 Rocky Mountain Bride Nevada issue and will appear in their Spring 2026 print edition. Seeing a wedding from the Reno area where I grew up featured in their very first Nevada issue feels full circle.
Rocky Mountain Bride is a national print wedding magazine, not just an online blog. Having a Reno Tahoe wedding recognized at this level means more to me than I can explain.
But before any recognition, this day mattered because of who Alyssa and Daniel are.

A Wedding Day That Felt Easy and Real
From the start, the day felt calm and unforced. Alyssa was fully present. Nothing felt rushed or staged.
Daniel matched her energy. He was clearly in awe of the woman he was about to marry. When they were together, I stepped back and let the moments unfold naturally. Their connection did not need direction. As a Reno Tahoe wedding photographer, that is always my favorite kind of wedding to document.
Ironically, they told me they might feel awkward in front of the camera. Now I get to tell them they look like published models.
This is exactly how I approach documentary wedding photography in Nevada. I believe timelines should breathe. I believe small moments matter more than perfect poses. Most of all, I believe your photos should feel like your real wedding day.

Western Details, Thoughtful Choices, and Meaningful Moments
Every detail felt thoughtful without feeling overdone. Western-inspired elements blended seamlessly with a clean, modern aesthetic. Everything felt chosen with care, which makes sense because Alyssa is a designer herself.
Throughout the day, small moments stood out.
The delicate sleeves on her dress. Jewelry being clasped. Private vows. Constant laughter from their family. The mountain views surrounding the venue.
These are the moments that grow more meaningful over time. That is why I photograph weddings the way I do.
Portrait time felt truly effortless. The light, the setting, and the trust they gave me allowed space for creativity. When couples trust me fully, the images become something special.

The People Who Made the Day What It Was
One of my favorite parts of this Reno Tahoe wedding was the people.
Their families and wedding party brought warmth and support into every part of the day. There was real laughter. Real emotion. Real connection.
During the speeches, I found myself laughing along with inside jokes. That kind of energy cannot be manufactured. It comes from a couple who is deeply loved.
As a Nevada wedding photographer, I believe the people matter just as much as the portraits. The energy of the room always shows up in the gallery.

What This Rocky Mountain Bride Feature Represents
Being selected as a Rocky Mountain Bride cover finalist for their Nevada issue is incredibly meaningful. Not just because of the title, but because of what it represents.
There were seasons in my career when it would have been easier to chase what was trending or mold my work into what I thought success should look like. Instead, I stayed true to my documentary approach and ever changing style. I focused on honest storytelling and intentional imagery.
Seeing that approach recognized in a national wedding publication feels validating.
Staying True to My Approach as a Reno Tahoe Wedding Photographer
This wedding reflects everything I care about.
Truly emotional storytelling. Timeless imagery. Documentary moments balanced with intentional portraits. A gallery that feels elevated but still deeply real.
More than anything, this day reminds me why I love serving couples in the Reno-Tahoe area and throughout Nevada. These landscapes and communities are home to me. Preserving my couples stories here is something I never take lightly.
I am endlessly grateful to Alyssa and Daniel for trusting me.
